New highway to connect northern Albania and Kosovo with Rinas Airport

The highway Thumanë-Fushë Krujë-Kashar, that connects through a modern infrastructure the north of Albania and Kosovo with Tirana International Airport and with the Port of Durres, is on the final phase of preparations.

Through a post on his social network ‘’Facebook’’ Pm Edi Rama declared that his highway will be build according to all the European standards.

The highway Thumanë-Fushë Krujë-Kashar will be part of the blue corridor, that connect northern Albania and Kosovo with the most important airport Albania, ‘’Mother Teresa Airport’’ and the Port of Durres.

The ‘’A category highway’’ will be 21km long with a width of 28 metres. The projected speed available will be 140 km/h with two lanes, 3.75 m each , and an emergency lane. The highway will have 14 underpasses , 12 bridges and 3 overpasses along its stretch and will be build according to all the European standards.  It will also be equipped with a acoustic barrier and will foresee  a traffic influx of 24-67 thousand vehicles per day.
