The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, hosted in a meeting the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Sztáray. Mr. Meta welcomed Mr. Sztáray’s visit to Albania and in particular praised his participation in the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Albanian Kingdom.
“Referring to the excellent traditionally friendly relations between the two countries and the two nations, President Meta underlined once again that these relations were even stronger and received a special glamour when Géralaldine Apponyi admitted to be the Queen of Albanians.
Both interlocutors also agreed to boost bilateral co-operation, paying particular attention to the joint interest in intensifying economic and trade co-operation, “the Presidency said.
“Hungarian investments are very welcome in Albania and during my last visit to Hungary, I noticed the will of the Hungarian authorities to increase the level of economic and trade exchanges with Albania”, underlined President Meta.
The Head of State also praised the very good cooperation between the Municipality of Tirana and that of Budapest, considering it an example to be followed, both at the local and central level with Hungary. They also discussed about the latest developments in the Western Balkans and the Euro-Atlantic future of the countries in this region.
