Renowned Albanian writer Fatos Arapi passes away at the age of 89

The renowned Albanian writer Fatos Arapi passed away at the age of 89. Fatos Arapi was born in 1929 in Vlora, where he finished middle school. Afterward he continued his studies in Bucharest (Bulgaria) at the faculty of Mathematics and Economy.

In Albania he has worked as  a professor at the Faculty of History and Philology in Tirana and as a  journalist for many years and won several national and international prizes for poetry, including the ‘’Golden Crown’’ in 2008 in Macedonia.

Aside poetry, Arapi has written many novels, namely ‘’The wild ducks’’, ‘’Snow’’, ‘’Friends’’ etc. The homage ceremony will be organized in Tirana, 13 October.
