Albanian PM Rama is participating in Central European Initiative summit meeting (CEI) in Croatia. Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama during his stay in Croatia stated that Albania intends to further intensify the relations with Croatia. According to him, cooperation between Albanians and Croats has deep roots in history. Rama also announced at a joint press conference with his counterpart Andrej Plenkovic that Albania will cooperate in the field of security, especially on illegal immigration. The chief executive mentioned the contribution Croatia has made to the Albanian factor in the Balkans focusing on Kosovo’s independence and aid to Albania during NATO membership.
They also emphasized the need to increase trade exchanges, underlining that a forum will be organized among businesses in order to increase trade exchanges. The Croatian counterpart told reporters that Albania is a valuable ally for the Croatian state. Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic stated that his will back up Albania along its integration path mentioning among other things the role of Albanians and their contribution to Croatia’s society. Today we also signed the strategic partnership; this will be a step forward in the exchange of goods between the two countries. We currently have 60 million euro exchanges. We hope that the relations between us will be more powerful in political cooperation, but also in economic terms.
