Students’ protest carried on even today in Tirana. They marched along the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, stopped for a few moments in front of the Headquarters of the Prime Minister’s Office and then went on their protest at the Ministry of Education.
They demanded the lifting of the tuition fee on failed exams. They blocked the Ministry of Education Headquarters causing traffic jam, declaring that they will not go to the universities until their conditions will be met.
PM Edi Rama reacted yesterday underlining that the Decision of the Council of Ministers for the fee to be paid by students that have failed to pass exams, is requested by the universities and that these tariffs are not determined by the Ministry. According to INSTAT Albanian families spending on education has been doubled. In 1915 the Albanian families spend 2,1% of the budget for education. Last year it jumped at 3.9%.
