Employment of young people increased by 2.3% in the third quarter of 2018

The number of employed people 15 and over nationwide has increased by 2.3% in the third quarter of 2018, compared to the same quarter a year earlier. INSTAT announced that, during this quarter, the employment rate for the population aged 15-64 is 59.7%. The annual growth rate of employment for the population of 15 years and over, from the third quarter of 2017 in the third quarter of 2018, was 2.3%. In annual terms, employment growth by main sectors of the economy is 3.9% in industry sectors, 2.5% in services sector and 1.2% in agriculture sector. Compared to the previous quarter, in the third quarter of 2018, employed people 15 and over increased by 0.4%. Employment grew by 0.7% in the services sector, in the industry sector by 0.3% and in the agricultural sector by 0.1%. The employment rate for men is 67.3%, while for women 52.1%. Compared to the same quarter of 2017, the employment rate for men increased by 2.6% and for women by 1.6%, according to INSTAT. While pointing out that in the third quarter of 2018 the employment rate of youth is 39.5% and for the population 30-64 years, the employment rate is 70.7%.
