After meeting with Kosovo’s representative group for dialogue with Serbia, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini reiterated the EU’s stance on the tax imposed on goods imported from Serbia.
Mogherini insisted on creating a climate that contributes to good neighborliness, and has also sought to respect the agreements that the two states have achieved in Brussels.
According to her, a peace deal would also create a climate of good neighborliness in the Balkans.
“A climate that contributes to good neighborhood needs to be created, where past achievements should be respected and implemented. Actions and statements that are not in line with the general interest and strategic objectives for the region should be avoided, “Mogherini said.
After this meeting, co-chairmen of Kosovo delegation Fatmir Limaj and Shpend Ahmeti declared that the tax on Serbia will not be lifted until the latter recognizes Kosovo.
