Lleshaj on 106th anniversary of the State Police,curbing illegal immigration: Cracking down on organized crime and corruption focus of police work

On the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the State Police, Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj delivered a speech focusing on state police transformation through years.

Creating a zone of free movement between Albania and Kosovo, curbing illegal immigration, cracking down on organized crime and corruption were some of the pinpoints highlighted by the Interior Ministry. Lleshaj said that government support will continue to modernize and further qualify the state police, focusing on regional and European integration.

The minister assessed state police mission as difficult, expressing appreciation for the sacrifices made during these years, where since 1990, about 224 employees have laid their lives on duty.
