Meta meets Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, boosting Italian investment in Albania necessary

The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, received today the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi. President Meta praised the visit of Minister Milanesi to Albania as a sign of great attention that Italy attaches to relations with Albania and developments in the Western Balkans region. Specifically, President Meta praised the excellent and historic relations between the two countries, as well as the overall support that Italy has given to Albania through years, as well as for NATO and EU integration. Focusing on Strategic Partnership Relations, President Meta underlined the need for further promotion and institutionalization of bilateral projects or in the regional context, the presidency announces. Meanwhile, referring to the co-operation within the Troika of the OSCE Presidency, Italy-Slovakia-Albania, 2018-2020, President Meta praised the good coordination between the three countries and the serious commitment to address the challenges, crises and conflicts that are threatening the peace and stability of the OSCE space. President Meta also paid special attention to boosting Italian investment in the Albania, especially in strategic sectors including energy or exploration of new oil and gas resources. Both interlocutors paid special attention to the latest developments in the Western Balkans region and shared the same view of the need to advance the so far achievements.
