90′ Albania, a retrospective exhibition an the National Historic Museum

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, present in the exhibition ‘’ Retrospective, Albania in the 90’, curated by  the Austrian  photographer and anthropologist, Robert Pichler, declared that this exhibition is a childhood throwback.

‘’A throwback to our childhood, that was tough, a throwback to be considered as a mirror, to understand where we were and make a comparison of culture and emancipation while reflecting’’ – declared Mayor Veliaj.

The director of the National Historic Museum, Dr. Dorian Koci noted that Albania in the 90’ was an important period for the history of Albania.

‘’ I am thrilled and excited that you came here. The time when I was here wasn’t the best, but something is clear that I have taken a lot from Albanians and I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Albania. During my stay I received knowledge and hospitality, which were very important for me as a scholar. The photos and the videos are propriety of Albanians and not mine’’- declared the Austrian anthropologist Robert Pichler.

This exhibition started its journey in Tirana 18 months ago, at the bus station of the northern line. The bus of the line Kombinat-Kinostudio will be covered by the photos of the exhibition and will serve as a moving studio, followed by other lines in different cities, bearing the testimony of 90’ Albania.
