The European Union has urged Albania to deepen public administration reform and fiscal consolidation in order for the country to mark a steady economic growth.
The request was filed during the meeting of EU Finance Ministers with their counterparts from the Western Balkans and Turkey.
Politicians’ Recommendations agreed upon for Albania focus on pursuing fiscal consolidation, improving public finance transparency and planning public investment.
Finance Minister Anila Denaj, in the meeting, expressed her commitment to work on problem-solving, implementing justice reform and improving support for small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as boosting investment in tourism.
Albania also agreed to ensure the efficient liberalization of the energy market and increase the use of clean energy.
During the meeting, they agreed on the challenges facing the Western Balkans and Turkey, as well as the roadmap for each country regarding the economic reforms needed.
