Albania and China signed a Memorandum of Understanding for co-operation on food products import and export and food safety .
This memorandum paves the way to the export of products of animal origin from Albania to China.The signing comes a few days after the visit to China of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bledi Cuci, who met with his Chinese counterpart and specifically addressed the Karantine Protocol. The main goal is to export products of animal origin to China, such as milk and cheese, fish, honey, etc.
The signing of the Memorandum was made in China by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ermira Gjeci. Both Parties agreed to negotiate and cooperate about the inspection procedures and quarantine of food products covered by this Memorandum, in accordance with the rights and obligations of the parties.
Albania is interested in intensifying trade exchanges with China, especially in the agricultural sector and the agro-processing industry, reports the Ministry of Agriculture.
