Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka is on an official visit to Germany where she was received by German homologue Ursula von der Leyen. Xhaçka says that part of the conversation was the opening of negotiations for Albania as well as the political situation in the country.
Xhaçka informed the German Minister about the importance of this moment not only for Albania, but for the region as a whole. “We share the same view that Albania’s European perspective is the right alternative and that the integration of Albania and the region into Euro-Atlantic structures is a necessity for the modernization and Europeanization of our countries, but also a necessity for the security and stability of Albania and the region as a vanguard of security and stability of Europe itself, “said after the meeting the Minister of Defense.
Focusing on domestic political developments, Minister Xhaçka briefed the German counterpart about the ongoing efforts made by our country to carry out the difficult but necessary reforms such as the justice reform.
Minister Xhaçka expressed the full conviction that Albania, thanks to the continued support of its allies like Germany, will move forward towards the integration process.
“I believe that Albania has made a lot of progress thanks to the work, the efforts, thanks to the reforms and the Albanians, as well as the support of our friends, allies such as Germany. I am convinced that with their continuous support we will be able to move forward in the process of integration at this important crossroad for the future of the country and the region and we will manage to tell Albanians all what they deserve and how much they have done to be part of the big European family, “said Minister Xhaçka.
