After the completion of the first lot in the Vlora River Road, works have started on the second lot.
The news comes from Prime Minister Edi Rama, who calls it “a hidden treasure of the wonderful Albanian nature”.
The Vlora River Road, an investment of the Albanian government, creates a link not only between Vlora villages, but also between Vlora and Himara, providing opportunities for Tepelena residents or tourists coming from other parts of Albania, from Gjirokastra and Tepelena to a faster access to the coast.
It is more than 90 km of roads, another parallel connection with Albania’s coastline, a brand new one that will give Vlora a new space for tourism and a stable impact on the agriculture and livestock sectors, enabling quick and direct access to domestic and foreign products for export.
Second Lot Gjormi-Brataj-Lasko Bridge has a 27.1km project which also includes civil works, artwork, road safety elements, lighting system, pedestrian crossings.
As part of this investment, village centers will be treated as urban areas including the construction of sidewalks, lighting systems and greenery. Considered as the heart of Laberia, the province has 50,000 inhabitants in 100 villages.
The picturesque landscape, the ups and downs, the history and traditions have tremendous potential for economic and tourist development.
