Acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj attended the meeting of the Union’s Mediterranean Forum in Barcelona.
The Forum focused on the consolidation of the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation into three main pillars: human resource development, overall social and political stability and further regional integration.
The head of the Albanian diplomacy issued a statement on social network facebook reiterating that Albania aims through the chairmanship of the Mediterranean Contact Group to increase the interaction between the countries of this region and the Western Balkans in areas such as bolstering the role of women in society, joint action for climate change and a greater involvement of youth in development policies in general.
During the meetings held in this Forum, Acting Minister Cakaj invited senior representatives of the Mediterranean countries to participate in the OSCE Contact Group Conference to be held in Tirana on October 24-25.
“Albania keeps intensifying its diplomatic commitments and strengthen its role in the international arena,” Cakaj was quoted as saying.
