The fourth edition of the Tirana Marathon concluded today the race for the children category.
The ‘Fun Run’ event brought together all the 9-year schools of the capital and surrounding areas, setting a new record for attendance.
The length of the race was 2km from Mother Teresa Square, while the finish was Scanderbeg Square. This edition also had its winners for the boys and girls category. Edi Devole won the boys race, while Juliette Cejku was declared the best for the girls.
Mayor Erion Veliaj drew the number he is going to compete with tomorrow. He assessed the race as a good way to promote the Albanian capital.
“I want Tirana tomorrow to be a postcard of a European Albania, a pure Albania, with kind, welcoming people, and a Tirana that is open to all tourists, as we will have competitors from above 45 states of the world. I want you to help us by distributing water, to help foreign tourists show where their destinations are in Tirana, to help someone who will spend the weekend in Tirana, giving ideas on how he can spend as much time as possible, but also to visit as many things as possible ”, Veliaj said at the award ceremony for the winners of the ” Fun Run ” category.
