Attorney General Cela discloses the priorities that the Prosecutor General’s Office for 2020

Attorney General Olsian Cela in a meeting with media representatives in the Prosecutor General’s Office, presented among other things the priorities that the Prosecutor General’s Office will have for 2020.
He emphasized that the Prosecutor General’s Office aims at implementing a project targeting the increase of efficiency in criminal laundering issues.
“The priority will be to build a system of monitoring issues related to the implementation of legality, independence and transparency, the rights of the subjects of criminal proceedings etc., and to build communication mechanisms with the HPC and HJI. The Prosecutor General’s Office will aim to implement a project that aims to increase efficiency in criminal matters clearance, take concrete steps towards institutional coordination and a new approach of law enforcement agencies in this regard,’said Çela.
Cela also stressed out that the process of digitization in the prosecution activity would be promoted in order to reduce the time needed to conduct investigations and modernize the process as a whole, aiming at expanding access and online communication.

The Prosecutor General’s Office will also support the launch of a project to evaluate the efficiency of criminal policies applied in the country in order to reduce the level of crime. This process will aim to increase the effectiveness of criminal justice by taking into account the financial and social aspects. Implementation of this project will require a great deal of institutional, academic, and international legal assistance missions. The General Prosecutor’s Office will be a promoter of its implementation and will take all necessary steps in this direction, ” Cela was quoted as saying.
