The “Tourism for Solidarity and Sustainability” summit is holding its proceedings in Tirana. The summit is attended by Prime Minister Edi Rama, Tourism Minister Blendi Klosi and the tourism ministers of Italy, Greece, Croatia and the entire region, expected to discuss the challenges and expectations of the tourism sector.
Natural disasters create crises that put people in need of immediate housing. The earthquake of November 26, 2019 in Albania, where thousands of Albanians lost their homes and more than 5,000 people took refuge within 24 hours in hotels, was a unique example of how the tourism industry is not only business, but also humanitarian, because tourism with its structures showed that it is an important supporter of the humanitarian crisis.
For this reason, this summit will be of particular importance, as Albania will share with its partners and rivals in the region this great lesson of Albanian tourism, but will also receive support to help all families affected by the earthquake.
