Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu promised that construction of 500 homes for homeless families after the November 26 earthquake would begin in late February. Mr. Çavuşoğlu made this statement during a meeting with Speaker of Parliament, Gramoz Ruci, as he is paying an official visit to Albania.
Mr. Ruci noted that the political relations between the two countries are excellent and developed in full understanding. “The political dialogue, the friendly relations, the numerous and intensive exchanges have strengthened the strategic partnership between the two countries and the institutional cooperation in all fields and levels,” said Ruci. He added that “Economic co-operation, trade exchanges and Turkish investments in Albania are increasing” while emphasizing that “the Albanian Parliament has supported and will support the strengthening of bilateral co-operation in all areas.” “Albania is grateful to Turkey for its strong support for Kosovo’s recognition and membership in international organizations, contributing as an important partner to Kosovo and Albania in these efforts,” Ruci said.
The Speaker of Parliament expressed to Minister Çavuşoğlu the gratitude for the support for the families affected by the 26 November earthquake, as well as the solidarity for the Turkish people and the families affected by the 24 January earthquake in Turkey.
