The International Development Association, part of the World Bank, approved the 46m-euro loan for the COVID-19 Emergency Project. The funds will be used to prevent, detect and respond to the threat posed by COVID-19, enabling, among other things, the procurement of medical equipment, as well as strengthening the public health system by increasing testing capacity and expanding the Clinic’s capacity of Infectious Diseases. Furthermore, within this loan, social assistance schemes and households will be supported according to the Emergency Fiscal Package of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo. The International Development Association, otherwise known as the World Development Association, is a lending institution that, through lending in more favorable terms than the financial market, aims to help, among other things, reduce poverty and improve living conditions.
