The leader of the Socialist Party’s Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has reacted after the publication of the third report on the functioning of the visa-free regime with the countries of the Western Balkans.
In a Facebook post, Balla states that this is another “positive decision” of the EC, which, according to him, presents the progress made by Albania in meeting the requirements left by the second report.
“Another positive assessment comes today from the European Commission. In the third report published today on the functioning of the visa-free regime with the countries of the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia), as well as with the Eastern Partnership countries, the Commission clearly presents the progress made from our country in meeting the requirements left by the second reporting,” says Balla.
In the report, the Commission mentions, among other things:
Good progress has been made in implementing actions to address irregular migration, including enhanced border controls. Good readmission cooperation continued and should be maintained, as well as cooperation with the EU and Member States on migration and security.
In the report, the Commission assesses the results achieved by Albania and certainly encourages “improvement and sustainability of results,” writes Balla.
