The Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj has announced that Kosovo will be provided 500,000 anti-COVID vaccines from Pfizer. In a post on Facebook, he says that the confirmation for the provision of these vaccines was given to them by the representatives of Pfizer during a virtual meeting held today with them.
"As we have announced before, the Ministry of Health has been engaged for months in many areas to provide the vaccine against COVID-19, in order to meet the obligations we have to citizens and protect their public health. The Government of Kosovo and the Ministry of Health remain committed to providing protection to our citizens through comprehensive vaccination against Covid-19," he wrote.
He also states that Kosovo will receive from the COVAX mechanism another 360,000 free vaccines for 20 percent of the population.
"Vaccines will be provided for all groups of the population that should be vaccinated according to the projections of the NIPHK. The vaccine against COVID-19 will be given free of charge to the citizens of our country", he says.
