The literary evening "Oh love, forever my life" was held on this 121st anniversary of the birth of the poet Lasgush Poradec at the artistic center that bears his name in his hometown, Pogradec.
In addition to the poems of the poet, who did not compromise with the communist regime, but wrote in Albanian perceptible lyrics for local readers, the artists of this center also brought performances in ballet and music.The young artists brought his best poems singing to love and beauty.
Lazar Gusho or Lasgush Poradeci was born in Pogradec. He completed his primary and secondary education in Monastir and Athens, and thus received his academic education at the universities of Bucharest and Graz. Lasgush Poradeci was an Albanian philologist, poet, translator, writer and pioneer of modern Albanian literature.He is considered as one of the most influential Albanian writers of the 20th century whose works are directly connected with Romanticism and Realism. He developed and maintained close relations with Asdreni, Ernest Koliqi, Gjergj Fishta and Mitrush Kuteli, the most outstanding Albanian writers of that time.
Poradeci is best remembered for his poetry collections "Dance of the Stars" and "Star of the Heart" inspired by the traditions and peculiarities of Albanian life. His style is characterised for its stylistic and technical achievement, its form and content as well as its engagement with nature, eroticism and philosophy. Poradeci passed away on November 12, 1987.
