During the '60s and' 70s of the last century, political and cultural exchanges between Albania and China were very close. Former Chinese Prime Minister Chu En Lai paid three visits to Albania, once even celebrating the New Year in Albania.
Exactly based on the same ideological conditions, Albanian films with the theme of the anti-fascist war, such as "Victory over death", "The eighth in bronze", etc., and the Chinese films "Girl with white hair", "Basketball player number 5" etc., have become the common memory of a generation of Chinese and Albanians. At the height of the Chinese Cultural Revolution, Albanian dubbed films were the only pure ideological products deemed appropriate for millions of Chinese cinema-goers. The dubbed version of "Victory over Death" was extremely popular with the Chinese public, ranking as the most successful film even in ticket sales until the early 1990s.
The film by Gëzim Erebara and Piro Milkani, a story of partisan resistance, continues to be a historic moment in China today.
