The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu stated that they achieved earlier than they had planned the target to vaccinate 500 thousand citizens.
From the vaccination center in "Skanderbeg" square, the minister said that this week they expect 11,700 doses of vaccine from Pfizer and part from the EU.
"Albania is one of the countries that has a high rate of vaccinations due to the rapid progress of contracts and the delivery of doses. There are over 736 thousand doses of vaccine arrived in the country.
Expect 11,700 doses of vaccine this week from the contract we have with Pfizer and part of the EU. Throughout May we expect about 99 thousand more vaccines from Covax, Pfizer and the instrument created by the EU. "Yes, we are continuing with the combined vaccination calendar," she said.
Manastirliu also called on citizens not to neglect compliance with the measures, despite the fact that the numbers have been declining.
"Citizens should not neglect to respect the measures. Although the numbers tend to decrease, we continue to have all the control over the pandemic," said the minister.
