3 countries sign the memorandum for the 8th corridor! Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria will lobby for funds

A tripartite memorandum of cooperation was signed in Sofia between Albania, Bulgaria and North Macedonia to promote Corridor 8. Following the signing of the memorandum, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy Belinda Balluku said that the construction of this infrastructure is essential for the development of the Western Balkans.

"Now with all the projects we have started in the field of railways and roads, but undoubtedly the new port of Durres we are sure that this great project, this project that includes all three countries will be a success in the future. We discussed with colleagues in terms of future steps and agreed that a common agenda to promote Corridor 8 as one of the most important corridors of economic development not only for our countries but also for other countries in the region is a necessity for the agendas of the three ministries of infrastructure in the future ", said Minister Balluku.
To complete this strategic project, which would bring more development to the region, the minister said that all three parties will lobby to obtain funds from European institutions to finance the complete construction of the railway.

In order to progress on this project, Balluku announced that there will be another meeting in North Macedonia and then in Tirana. Corridor eight is designed to facilitate the exchange of goods, people, oil and energy supplies between EU countries, the Balkan countries.

After the signing of the memorandum, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku said that the construction of this infrastructure is essential for the development of the Western Balkans.
