The Zakat House in Gjirokastra was the place where the cooperation agreement in the field of art, archeology, museology and copyright protection was signed between the Ministry of Culture of Albania and Turkey. During this visit in the city of Gjirokastra, where the Turkish Minister also participated, Minister Margariti reiterated that the work will continue with other projects. "After successful collaborations in the field of restoration, other major projects await us ahead," said the Minister of Culture.
A day after the signing of this agreement, Minister Elva Margariti in a Facebook status says that the year started with the restoration of the Lead Mosque.
"We started this year with the agreement for the restoration of the Lead Mosque, Shkodra and we are continuing with a cooperation agreement, signed in Gjirokastra with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of the Republic of Turkey not only in the preservation of cultural heritage, but also in other fields of art such as cinematography, publications, translations and cultural exchanges ", says Margariti.
The protocol for the restoration of the Lead Mosque was signed by the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and the Minister of Culture of Albania, Elva Margariti, during the visit of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama to Turkey on January 6-7, 2021.
