Albanian exports have revived earlier this year, surpassing even the pre-crisis levels of Covid-19.
According to INSTAT, in April 2021 exports of goods reached the value of ALL 29 billion, increasing by 92.3%, compared to the same period a year earlier. Compared to the monthly average of three years, 2018-2020, the trade deficit in April 2021 increased by 32.1%.
While state assistance to exports can focus on information on potential markets, providing low-cost lending, training to know and understand international trade law, and setting quality standards in the local and international market.
According to economic experts, the increase in exports requires investment in technology, to make its exports more competitive. Liberalization of regional markets has certainly facilitated and will facilitate the development of exports, but also our economy will be forced to open its market to imports. Hence there is an urgent need to make our economy more competitive.
