In 2020, during the fourth quarter, a total of 80 open shows and premieres were organized. According to data published by INSTAT, there were 7 performances at the National Theater, 32 performances at the National Experimental Theater, 20 performances at the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble, 16 performances at the National Cultural Center for Children and 5 performances at the National Circus . Cultural statistics show that during 2020, a total of 328 performances and premieres were organized in central art institutions. Compared to 2019, this number is very low due to the situation created by the pandemic. However, art institutions have continued the activity with online performances and premieres, published on social networks. In the fourth quarter of 2020, the total number of spectators at cultural activities is 5,457 spectators. The highest turnout was recorded at the National Experimental Theater (40.2 percent) and the National Circus (30.1 percent). According to INSTAT, 38,332 spectators participated in cultural activities in the central art institutions during 2020. While the comparison of the fourth quarter of 2020 with the fourth quarter of 2019 is not possible, since the cultural performances organized in arts and culture institutions have been suspended and visits to heritage sites cultural practices were allowed, implementing anti-covid security protocols. Pursuant to order no. 351, dated 29. 5. 2020, of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, "On taking special measures and restrictions to prevent the spread of the covid-19 pandemic", visits to museums, parks and castles were allowed with relevant restrictions. According to INSTAT, data on cultural statistics refer only to central institutions, which are under the Ministry of Culture. The central institutions of art and culture include: National Theater, National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble, National Experimental Theater "Kujtim Spahivogli", National Cultural Center for Children and the National Circus.
