Balla in North Macedonia, both countries should hold the intergovernmental with the EU

Albania and North Macedonia are hoping  to hold the first intergovernmental conferences in December. The statements come from the Chairman of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Taulant Balla after meetings in Skopje with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, President Stevo Pendarovski, Deputy Prime Minister Artan Grubi, Speaker Talat Xhaferri, Minister of Interior, Minister of Agriculture and opposition leaders.
''During these meetings we discussed  the great cooperation between the two countries, the cooperation between our two parliaments. We share the same aspiration for integration and we hope that within this year, in December, both Albania and North Macedonia will hold the intergovernmental conference, which is, in formal terms and the moment of the official start of membership talks, "said Balla.
The Albanian delegation, meanwhile, stated the need and scope for increasing economic cooperation following the very good political one.
"Prime Minister Zaev rightly stressed that 2020 will be remembered as the year with the highest number of Macedonian tourists in Albania and I believe this will be reflected in other years and we must work harder in this regard, to host more tourists in the coming years. The second concerns agricultural products in both countries. Albania exports to North Macedonia, but also imports from North Macedonia. We have discussed issues of close cooperation between us and senior Macedonian officials. "We specifically discussed with the Minister of Agriculture concrete projects of Albanian products that may come to North Macedonia as there is interest from Albanian entrepreneurs." said the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla.
The Albanian population in North Macedonia is considered by the politics of both countries as a very important bridge of cooperation.
