The President of the United States, Joe Biden said that the United States supports the continuation of Kosovo's dialogue with Serbia and the achievement of a comprehensive agreement, which would focus on mutual recognition.
"The United States will continue to support efforts to ensure lasting peace and productive dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and ultimately a comprehensive normalization agreement, which we believe should focus on mutual recognition," the letter said. US President Joe Biden has sent a letter to the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani in which he congratulates her on being elected to this position.
In the letter, Biden writes that the partnership between the two countries is rooted in common values, emphasizing that he will work with President Osmani on priorities related to strengthening the rule of law, the fight against corruption, the protection of minority rights and religious communities, recovery from the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, economic development as well as securing a sustainable energy future.
A statement from President Osmani's office said President Biden had also responded to Osmani's request to provide vaccines to Kosovo, based on her March 19 letter.
President Biden has said that "with the increase in the number of vaccines, the United States will work with partners to distribute them and that his team will be in contact with President Osmani to achieve such a goal."
