Albanian youth will be supported to enter the labor market, through the Youth Guarantee program, a new approach of the European Union for the countries of the Western Balkans.
The Minister of Finance and Economy, Anila Denaj announces that the program aims at early intervention with measures to reduce school dropout and train young people for the labor market.
"With the creation, implementation and gradual improvement of schemes, in 4 phases, during the period 2021-2027 it will be possible to support young people registered or not in employment services for training, training and employment," said Denaj.
The guarantee will also enable further approximation of legislation with EU policies, as part of the integration process, she underlined.
According to INSTAT, during the first quarter of 2021, the labor force participation rate for young people aged 15-29 is 50.7%, while the official youth unemployment rate is 23.3%.
Young people aged 15-29 who declared that they are pupils / students or in training make up 70.1% of economically inactive young people.
