EU monitors 119 beaches and other water areas in Albania: Over 76%, excellent quality! Here are the polluted areas
The report of the European Union on the quality of marine waters but also on land is published, where Albania is ranked 20th out of 30 monitored countries.
According to the report, 76.5 percent of water in Albania has excellent quality, 95.8% have acceptable quality and 4.2% are classified as polluted areas.
119 beaches and other water areas were monitored in our country, from which 1071 samples were taken, then analyzed for two microbiological parameters (Escherichia coli and Intestinal Enterococci).
Polluted areas are 5, in Lake Pogradec, in the part of the city, 1 lake in the area of Skrapar near the village Faqekuq, 2 areas in Durrës, in the beach and at the end of the Volga promenade and 1 area in the beach of Vlora in the city, reports Newsbomb.al.
What stands out from this monitoring is the high quality of water in Velipoja and Shengjin as well as the crystal clear waters of Saranda.
