FIFA and UEFA seem to fear shifting fan groups as potential spreaders of the virus. Moreover, with the restrictions imposed by various countries in terms of movements in their territory, it will be difficult for fans to regularly follow their heart teams.
Therefore, together, the two organizations have decided to ban traveling fans in the World Cup qualifiers that take place in September. The instruction went to all federations participating in the September qualifying matches, making it clear that the transfer of supporters for the challenges is prohibited.
Meanwhile, by monitoring the situation and in co-operation with the various governments, it will be decided whether the presence of traveling fans on the stadium will be allowed in the October and November matches.
As for the local fans, the organizations in question have made it clear that they respect the individual decisions of the respective governments regarding the percentages allowed in stadiums for matches.
