Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha met today with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. DP leader Basha announces that in this meeting he received support from Croatia to support Albania in the European integration process.
Statement of the DP leader Lulzim Basha:
"I want to thank the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, for the friendly reception he reserved for me together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Interior of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
For me and for the Democratic Party, there is nothing more important than the acceleration of Albania's European journey after the stalemate during the 8 years of this process.
For this reason we will do everything to make this dream of Albanians come true. This was at the center of the conversation I had with my friend, the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovi..
Just as we cooperated during the process of Albania and Croatia's membership in NATO, so we will cooperate closely in the process of Albania's membership in the EU. In this context, the experience and assistance of Croatia, which is also an EU member state, is very valuable to us.
I am happy to share with you the commitment of Prime Minister Plenkovci to help us in this process, whether with political support at the EU decision-making table, as he did during the Croatian Presidency, as well as at the technical level to be better prepared and walk as fast faster in the process.
I acquainted Prime Minister Plenkovic me with our integration platform and with our will and determination to do all the tasks that will lead to the start of negotiations with the European Union and the absorption of funds for aspiring countries, through which we will develop and modernize the economy. of the country and we will come to the aid especially of young people, small and medium business and Albanian farmers.
I am convinced that we will succeed as we made Albania a member of NATO, as we liberalized visas, abolished visas for Albanians, we will make European Albania a reality with the help of the EU and member states, including friendly and allied Croatia.
Finally, Croatia has a very good experience in the field of tourism, a priority of my government tomorrow, and for this we will work closely to get the best development models that will bring economic growth and employment for our citizens. ”
