The vaccination of the first people against anti-COVID will start today in Albania! January 11, 2021 will be a very important day for the country on the road to ending the months-long battle with COVID-19. The process will start this Monday afternoon, as a conference is planned by the Ministry of Health where it will provide more details.
Under the motto ‘Albania smiles’, the vaccination will be carried out at the national stadium ‘Air Albania’ in order to avoid crowds and long queues! In the entire environment of the stadium are placed 60 armchairs where the vaccination will be performed and the work will continue for 8-10 hours a day. It is forseen the vaccination of 60 citizens per hour.
The health care workers who are in the front line of coping with COVID will be the first to be vaccinated, to be followed by teachers, police officers and adults over 75 years old. Albania has officially provided 500 thousand doses of Pfizer anti-COVID vaccine from the company BioNTech, while as Rama announced earlier, talks are underway with Astrazeneca and Moderna.
