Kosovo and Israel have formalized mutual recognition, after the agreements signed yesterday between the two Foreign Ministers Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Gabriel Ashkenazi.
"We mark a new chapter in relations between the two countries. Both our nations have gone through extremely difficult paths to become two independent countries. Today, Israel becomes the 117th country to recognize our independence as an independent and sovereign state," said Kosovo's foreign minister.
While the Israeli Minister said that today's event is a very important thing for both countries and this marked a precedent in the history of the world as high-level agreements were signed through Zoom.
"The formalization of relations between Kosovo and Israel is another important historical step," said Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, in its speech, attached great importance to the gratitude of the United States and their contribution to the implementation of this agreement and that of September 4, and above all to the rescue of Albanians from the Serbian genocide during the 1998 -1999 conflict. The signing of the agreement was also praised by the outgoing Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.
