The first edition of the festival "Medifest: Sounds, Dialogues, Memories and Images from the Mediterranean", dedicated entirely to Albania, will start tomorrow in Puglia and will last until Sunday, with activities that will take place in Castro, Dizo, Maritima and Aquaviva.
This year's festival, which will be entirely dedicated to Albania is sponsored by the Puglia Region, the Puglia Public Theater, Pulia Promotion and Piiil Cultura in collaboration with many partners. The scientific curator is Gary Ballo and the general coordinator is Pasquale De Santis.
Thirty years after the mass landings of Albanian migrants in Brindisi and Bari, the festival will offer four days of meetings, presentations, concerts, rehearsals, readings, performances and a "photographic route" to tell the story of the Balkan country. The opening speech of the festival, entitled "Messapi: People of the two seas" will take place in the archeological site of Castro.
