The US Embassy in Tirana has gathered representatives of the Albanian state who have worked and contributed to justice reform. In a Facebook post, the US Embassy summarizes the 5 years of this reform, emphasizing that progress must be measured by how far we have come on the journey.
She further states that justice reform is not easy, fast or perfect and the United States Embassy is grateful to those who have brought Albania here.
"As 2021 comes to a close, U.S. Embassy Tirana takes a look at the progress Albania has made during the first five years of Justice Reform. Progress should not be measured solely by the distance to the destination, progress should also be measured by how far we have come on the journey. The legislative package, including significant constitutional amendments, marked a starting point for measuring that progress. As a comprehensive reform, Albania chose to undertake a comprehensive plan to re-evaluate the integrity and professionalism of the members of the justice system and promote a new culture through a change in the structure of the justice institutions through depoliticization and decentralization. U.S. Embassy representatives recently gathered with some of the many individuals who work tirelessly, every day to implement these concepts and make justice reform a success. Justice reform is not easy, quick, or perfect and the United States Embassy is grateful for those who have brought Albania this far".
