Former PDK leader Kadri Veseli will appear before the Special Court in The Hague today, where he will answer for the indictments brought against him on war crimes. It is learned that the public hearing is scheduled to start at 15:00. This will be Vesel's first appearance before the Specialized Chambers.
"During the first appearance, the pre-trial judge ensures that the rights of the accused are respected, including the right to legal representation and that the accused understands the charges against him," the press release reads.
We recall that yesterday the former president of the country, Hashim Thaçi, and the former speaker of the parliament, Jakup Krasniqi, appeared before the Special, who pleaded not guilty to war crimes. The head of the Self-determination Movement parliamentary group, Rexhep Selimi, will also testify before the Tribunal.
