The first contingent of coronavirus vaccines is expected to arrive in Kosovo within February, with the news announced by the Minister of Health Armend Zemaj.
He said that there is a possibility that the vaccine will arrive earlier, while he added that the vaccination will be for 1.2 million citizens of Kosovo.
"It does not mean that vaccines will not arrive even before February. So, we have now confirmed that the first contingent of antiCOVID vaccines will arrive in our country in February. Vaccination will be for 1.2 million citizens of Kosovo, so 1 million two hundred thousand citizens will be vaccinated. Vaccination is also obligated by the law on pandemics", said Zemaj.
According to him, Kosovo has made efforts in several directions to provide this vaccine as soon as possible.
"The budget allocation has been done for 2-3 months for the anti-COVID vaccine, but now we have a sum of 40 million euros and the budget will not be a problem. We have two ways to get the vaccine, the institutional commitment of Kosovo through the purchase and the alliance of vaccines that has provided us with 20 percent of them ", said the minister.
