The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani said that in the process of dialogue with Serbia, it is essential for Kosovo to respect territorial integrity, internal constitutional and state regulation, as well as the functionality of the country.
"We expect the process to end up with mutual recognition, respecting these principles, and for the agreement to be fully enforceable," Osmani said, adding that the issue of missing persons during the recent war in Kosovo should be a priority in dialogue.
Osmani made the remarks during the meeting she had with EU Special Representative for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak and US Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Matthew Palmer.
Their visit to Kosovo is taking place on the eve of the resumption of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
It has been announced that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic may meet in mid-June.
According to a press release issued by the Office of the President, Lajçak and Palmer reiterated their full support for the dialogue process and its conclusion with a final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.
Osmani also expressed gratitude to the European Union for donating vaccines against coronavirus and expressed hope that the US will also distribute vaccines to the citizens of Kosovo.
