The Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj and the Head of the OSCE Presence Vincenzo Del Monaco held a meeting focusing on institutional cooperation boosting between the Ministry of Justice and the OSCE Presence in Albania. The meeting focused also on the results of the Justice Reform so far and the path for the full implementation of this vital justice reform in Albania. The Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj also informed the Head of the OSCE Presence on the role as National Coordinator Against Corruption, the work done and the current challenges of the fight against corruption in the country.
The Head of the OSCE Presence, Vincenzo Del Monaco, on his part, provided support to the Ministry of Justice to bring new approaches and strategies in the areas of joint cooperation and stressed the promotion and advancement of the role of youth programs, not only to change the perception of corruption as a phenomenon, but also to bring about change in the community behaviors of the category of young people as promoters of change.
The Minister of Justice Etilda Gjonaj stated that 'Coordination of priorities with international partners and OSCE expertise are two very important elements to unify approaches, strategies and goals both in the fight against corruption, in the full implementation of the Justice Reform and in any issue that has Albania's membership in the European Union as its destination . 'The meeting also discussed the support of the penitentiary system in Albania and an evaluation report on the special regime in high security budgets, prepared by the Presence.
