After stopping the works started for the rehabilitation of the area near the Mosaic of Tirana, the architect Artan Shkreli announces new archeological discoveries. According to him, this discovery is the continuation of the construction structures of the paleo-Christian archeological site, unearthed for 50 years.
The works for the rehabilitation of the area started two months ago and are being carried out by LTE construction ltd.
It should last 5 months and costs 28,657,466 ALL with VAT, but a month ago after archaeologists signaled important archaeological remains, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, requested the suspension of works.
On the other hand, the importance of these discoveries, which occurred, only a few meters away from the surrounding wall of the Mosaic, has not yet been accepted by them.
