The Draft Budget and Fiscal Package for discussion and approval in the plenary session after more than a month of discussions.
The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj stated that next year's draft budget has as its primary objective the consolidation of economic recovery, after successfully coping with two natural disasters that hit the country in succession, the 2019 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic .
According to her, this major objective is based on the positive expectations of the government for an economic growth of 7.6% in 2021, expectations in line with the forecasts of prestigious international institutions such as IMF, WB, EBRD, etc., which also confirm the positive trend for the medium term 2022-2024.
The Minister of Finance and Economy said that through the draft budget will be continued the structural reforms launched, which will promote the ongoing economic growth in each sector and, above all, increase employment.
Regarding the major objective of debt reduction, the Minister said that in the draft budget for 2022, the fiscal deficit is projected at 5.4% of GDP, down from the expected 2021 of 6.8% of GDP.
