 Piro Mani is one of the most prominent personalities in the history of Albanian theater. He is an actor and director. He has brought various works on the theater stages, which have been welcomed by the public. Mani was born on April 14, 1932 in Korça.

Piro Mani is an excellent director and lecturer, and worked at the National Theater for 25 years. He studied at the State Institute of Theatrical Arts, GITIS, Moscow. After returning to his homeland, he was appointed director of the theater "A. Zako Çajupi ”, Korça, which he successfully managed for about eight years. From 1967 -1992 he was the director of the National Theater, where he staged dozens of plays. In his artistic career he counts over 80 performances. Piro Mani has been honored with many awards. He is a master of directing mass scenes, a deep connoisseur of mise-en-scène. The culminating performances are " The girl of the Mountains ", "The Second Face", "Arturo Ui", "The General of the Dead Army", "The Age Before the Trial", "The 12th Night", "Prometheus", etc.

"The girl of the mountains " brought to the stage of the People's Theater by director Pirro Mani appeared on March 8, 1967. This drama would unite the most famous actors of the Albanian theater such as Sander Prosi, Prokop Mima, Marie Logoreci, Roza Anagnosti, Edi Luarasi, Antoneta Papapavli, Shkëlqim Basha, Ilia Shyti, Luan Qerimi, Ndrek Shkjezi , Margarita Xhepa, Lazër Filipi, Yllka Mujo, Mimika Luca, etc. The role of the girl was played by three actresses: Roza Xhuxha (Anagnosti), Edi Luarasi and Antoneta Papapavli. The drama "The girl of the Mountains" for many years has been one of the most played dramas for the Albanian public. It has appeared inside Albania and in the Albanian provinces of Kosovo and Macedonia. The drama has a general character and is based on the efforts and sacrifices of Albanian women and girls to gain the rights and freedoms that belong to them. It is the first Albanian drama based on retrospective. The drama highlights the fluency of the dialogue, the communication of messages and the individualization of characters. Piro Mani has also been engaged in several feature films. He has won many awards and has been honored with the high title "People's Artist". He has been living in New York, USA for several years, together with his wife, the well-known actress Pavlina Mani and his family.
