The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, pays this week her first official visit to Berlin, where she meets with President Steinmeier, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas and representatives from the diaspora, economy and science.
Osmani will meet with her German counterpart, Frank Walter Steinemeier. For the German president, who has been in office since 2017, it is the first time that he receives a president or presidents from Kosovo at his residence. His two predecessors, Horst Köhler, and Joachim Gauck, hosted in 2010 respectively 2013, President Fatmir Sejdiu and President Ahtifete Jahjaga. Only Hashim Thaçi was never officially received by any German president as a counterpart.
