The first edition of Tiranathlone in Tirana, an important event organized by the Municipality of Tirana and the Embassy of Greece in our country has been successfully concluded.
For almost three hours, sports fans have competed in the completely new premises of "Helen Park" in Farka Lake in three disciplines: swimming, cycling and walking. Participants from Germany, Italy, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Austria and of course Albania and Greece participated in the 750m swimming competition, the 20km cycling race, and the 5km sport walk for men and women.
In the end, the prizes were distributed to the athletes who led these competitions. The winner of Tiranathlone for women was announced Stefani Polihroniadis, from Greece, followed by Deborah Keci and Rita Zeqiri from Albania. As for the men's category, the winners are Panagiotis Bitados, Strahinja Trakic and Panagiotis Polyzos.
During the awards ceremony, Mayor Veliaj thanked his Greek counterpart, Costas Bakoyannis, for the cooperation, and stressed the importance of sports and cultural activities in strengthening cooperation between our two countries.
Immediately, the mayor Veliaj said that, together with the counterpart of Athens, they are working to open a cultural center for the Albanians who are in Athens, while two days ago the "Helen Park" was inaugurated in Tirana. This park is a new option that will offer recreation, entertainment, culture and sports activities to the residents of Tirana, as well as every visitor of the spaces near Farka Lake.
