Rama in the Economic Forum: We do not want to live with the past, but project the future

The Albanian Prime Minister  Rama addressed a speech in the Economic Forum for Regional Cooperation in North Macedonia. Rama stated that this meeting today is a mosaic with participants from entrepreneurs from all over the Western Balkans, and this, according to Rama, gives it a special importance.

"This initiative is not only the right thing, but also overdue. This region can not remain hostage to the past in any aspect. We do not want to live with the past, but project the future through a start that does not invent anything new, but brings to this region a meaningful example that is the example of the EU. We aim to facilitate the four fundamental freedoms. For what reason in the world should we expect to be locked within our borders, remaining aloof from each other as we have done for 500 years?

By the time we become part of the European Union we will be doing exactly what we are doing without the European Union. It's both unfortunate and ridiculous when they wonder at what we are doing. We can not read figures and facts from foreign experts where it is said that if we want to increase total national production, we can increase it by up to 2.5% only through economic integration while if we reach the level of the European free trade agreement, production could go up 6.7%, "said Edi Rama, among others, in Skopje.
