Sali Brari, assessed as one of the nightingales of the Albanian folk song passed away, at the age of 85. The sad news was announced by the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble, through a post on social networks.
Sali Brari was born in Tirana on May 18, 1935. Since elementary school, his talent was displayed with a sweet and warm voice, being active in the musical activities of that period. In 1956, Sali Brari started work as a singer at the State Variety Show. With the formation of the Folk Song and Dance Ensemble in 1957, he joined this troupe, until he retired. During this period, he also finished the Artistic High School at the canto branch. In Sali Brari's repertoire we find a variety of folk songs, elaborated songs, folk songs created by our composers, and his interpretation in the operetta "Golden Autumn" by composer Tish Daija and the opera "Skanderbeg". Sali Brari has performed several concerts across the country. He has been successful along the tours with the Folk Song and Dance Ensemble in Europe, Asia and Africa, amazing foreigners with his interpretive power and unique and melodic voice. For his activity and contribution in the field of interpretation of folk music, the People's Assembly has awarded him with the Order "Naim Frashëri" of the First Class.
